OUTCAST was a one-shot western idea from Steve Parkhouse and long-time CONAN artist Barry (Windsor) Smith. It was apparently completed in 1969 but not printed until two years later, in WESTERN GUNFIGHTERS #4. The one-shot ended with an editorial appeal to readers, but I don't imagine anyone wrote to demand more of the character.
Despite being colored with red skin, the opening implies that "the Outcast" may be a white guy raised by an Indian tribe, while one of his enemies calls him a "halfbreed." The story's only interesting as a marker of Smith's artistic growth, as he was still under the Kirby aegis at this point.
