Just reviewed the mash-film
STAN HELSING, which is notable for using only monsters from the seventies and eighties instead of the Classics from the Golden Age of Hollywood.
Though the film's raunchy tone is leagues away from the tame humor of 2000's
MONSTER MASH, the two films share one thing in common: a quick wrapup in which the good guys overcome the bad guys with barely any trouble at all, despite a buildup to some more epic conclusion. I assume budget concerns motivated both films in this area.
